Sarcopenia and Healthy Ageing

Dr Rebecca Luong

Sarcopenia is a muscle disease 💪🏻characterised by

1️⃣low muscle strength,

2️⃣low muscle quantity and quality, and

3️⃣poor physical performance. It can be attributed to the ageing process (primary) or caused by other factors (secondary) such as inactivity, poor nutrition and diseases. We cannot change the ageing process but we can stay active to use our muscles and keep the right amount of energy and protein to sustain our muscles. Have a lovely, energetic, active, vibrant weekend and encourage others around you including older adults such as parents and grandparents to join in on the fun! 😍💪🏻🥗🥘
